Antique phonographs and mechanical machines help to tell the complete story. This museum, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026, includes movie theatre exhibits of film and slide projection equipment and rare surviving examples of architectural artifacts from the golden era of the movie palace.

ESTMIM includes a collection of mechanical music instruments which includes the 1925 Style 235 3/11 Wurlitzer Opus 1143 from the former RKO Keiths Theatre in downtown Syracuse.  The organ was relocated to the current location in 1966 and installed in the Art and Home Building’s Empire Theatre.
